Low energy consumption

Traditional incandescent lamps generates light produces light with a wire filament heated to a high temperature by an electric current passing through it, until it glows. However, while generating lights, the majority of the engergy is converted into heat and less then 5% of the energy has been converted into visible light. The luminous efficacy of an incandescent lamp is only about 10lm/W.
Next to incandescent lamps, A fluorescent lamp generates light from collisions in a hot gas (‘plasma’) of free accelerated electrons with atoms– typically mercury – in which electrons are bumped up to higher energy levels and then fall back while emitting at two UV emission lines (254 nm and 185 nm). The thus created UV radiation is then converted into visible light by UV excitation of a fluorescent coating on the glass envelope of the lamp. The chemical composition of this coating is selected to emit in a desired spectrum.However still only less than 30% of the energy is converted into visible light. The luminous efficacy is round 60lm/W.
The LED technology has a different way of generating light.The majority of the liight generated belong to visible lights. And the demands of energy to generate the same lights of LED lights is less than 10% of the incandescent light, and only round 30% of fluorescent light. The theoretic luminous efficacy could be 150lm/W.

Durable and long-lasting

The incandescent bulbs generating lights by heating/burning the wire filament, after a certain moment the wire will get its age and burn off, then the incandescent bulbs reach its life time. The life of an incandescent light is only round 1000 hours. The fluorescent lights have its life time round 6000-10000 hours.
However, the light of LED is generated from the radiative recombination electrons and the holes in the PN junction. This is the special micro movement of the diode, the issue of ageing does not exist in LED lights. The life time of LED light could be more than 50000 hours in theory.

Environmently-frendly and Cost effective

Comparing with influorescent lamp which use mercury in the product to generate the light, LED lamps does not contain hazoudous and toxic chemical elements in the product, has low environment negative influence.
On top, by using much less energy, LED lights consume much less chemical fuel indirectly, and reduce the emission of CO2.
Based on the value of electricity costing 0.25 euros/kWh, lamp using 365 days per year for 2.7 hours daily,  if you replace 10pcs of 60 watt incandescent lamps with 10 watt LED lamps. the following savings are possible in a period of 10 years:
Energy consumption reduced from 5913 kWh to 985.5 kWh.
You thus save about 1232 euros or 83 % of energy costs.
And you save the environment from more than 2118 kg of harmful CO2
In order to neutralise this volumn of CO2, around 354 trees would have to be planted.
The same quantity of CO2 is output by a car when travelling 16254 km.

Light for remote areas and portable generators

Because of the low power requirement for LEDs, using solar panels
ecomes more practical and less expensive than running an electric line or using a generator for lighting in remote or off-grid areas. LED light bulbs are also ideal for use with small portable generators which homeowners use for backup power in emergencies.
